Why I’m Running
The role of a councilperson is to represent and advocate for their community. We are dedicated team members that help pass thoughtful legislation. This is difficult without meaningful collaboration with the city’s executive, staff, council leadership and membership.
I strive to achieve a culture shift to reduce staff turnover and increase continuity. In addition, I will advocate for a united set of priorities coupled with measurable outcomes to ensure I leave the community a better place than how I found it.
Priorities
Utilize DEI Frameworks in Decision Making
It’s rare to find a community with such diverse socioeconomic status, race, age, gender identity, sexuality, and religious and spiritual beliefs. Diversity is our biggest strength and our greatest asset. As a council member, one of my priorities is to implement DEI frameworks to assist in decision making to ensure equitable results.
Implement Key Performance Metrics
One of my core values is to leave everything better than how I found it. I accomplished this when I was elected to CHUH school board for two terms, and in my professional career as a serial entrepreneur where I have experience turning around failing businesses. Being successful requires a team and a common goal. I believe it’s important to implement key performance metrics to help track our success and ensure we’re working towards a common goal.
Become a City that Strives for Excellence
Cleveland Heights is home to beautiful houses, a characteristic once held by East Cleveland and other neighboring communities that are now in disrepair. Over the past few years, the upkeep of our homes has started to decline. I believe it’s extremely important to protect this asset by upholding our inspection standards and striving for excellence.
I’d love to hear from you.
